Our Homestead

A working little homestead in Hillsville, Virginia.

Everwild is our family’s patch of pasture, barn, orchard, animals, half-finished projects, and ideas that sounded simpler before we started them.

Pasture, projects, animals, and whatever happens next.

The people behind Everwild

Hi, we’re Justin and Jordan.

Everwild is built around the life we are making here, one chore, one project, and one small batch at a time.

Most days are a mix of feeding animals, checking fences, making things, and deciding which job needs attention first. We are still learning this place and making it our own. When you stop by our booth, you are meeting the people doing that work, and we are always glad to talk about what is happening back at the homestead.

How we got here

This place became Everwild one project at a time.

We bought the homestead in spring 2025. A little over nine acres gave us pasture, a barn, an orchard, a big chicken coop, a creek, and enough work to make sure we would never be bored again.

We are not trying to make farm life look polished. We are learning, fixing, building, raising animals, and figuring out what this land can support as we go. Some plans work. Some plans become firewood. Both are part of the place.

Everwild grew out of that everyday work. The booth is simply where some of it ends up.

Who lives here

The animals are part of the work, not decorations for the website.

The pasture crew

Our goats and sheep turn grass, brush, and a surprising amount of mischief into daily chores. They also supervise every fence and gate repair.

The flock

Chickens and turkeys occupy the coop, argue about nesting boxes, and produce eggs according to their schedule rather than ours.

Packaged pork from Everwild’s Gloucestershire Old Spots

The heritage pigs

We have raised Gloucestershire Old Spots for richly marbled pork in limited batches. The breed and the work behind it are a major part of Everwild’s story.

Sassy: barn pig, escape artist, and absolutely not the pork herd.
An important distinction

This is Sassy. She is not the pork.

Sassy is our Juliana pig and a permanent resident. Her responsibilities include yelling for breakfast, rearranging her stall, and occasionally leaving the barn without authorization.

She is not a Gloucestershire Old Spot, and she is not part of our pork inventory. She is simply Sassy, which is already a full-time job.

From the homestead to the booth

We make what the place gives us room to make.

There is no factory behind Everwild. There is a family, a kitchen, a workbench, yarn, cedar boards, animals, and whatever time is left after chores.

Why the selection changes

Small-batch is a description, not a sales pitch.

The hens slow down. Pork cuts sell out. A batch of cedar runs out. A market idea works beautifully, or it does not work at all. We would rather let the booth change than pretend we can keep every item in stock year-round.

That is why the order form is a request, not an automatic checkout. Tell us what you are looking for, and we will give you the honest answer about availability, price, and pickup.

Growing with the place

The land sets the pace.

Some seasons bring full baskets and a busy booth. Others are about repairs, planning, and giving the next idea time to take root. The pasture, orchard, and wild edges are part of the same story as the animals and the things we make.

We share the good bits and the unfinished bits because both belong here. Check our Find Us page for the next chance to meet us, ask questions, and see what the latest season has brought to the table.
